Internships

The Penn Art Collection offers internships focusing in Collections Management. Interns learn to work with the University Art Collection using best practices established by the American Alliance of Museums. The Collections Management Intern is trained in collections cataloguing and database management, and provides support in paperwork processing for acquisitions, loans, image reproduction, exhibitions, and many other duties handled by the department. The Intern also assists with the department’s annual inventory of artwork across Penn’s campus.

There will be opportunities to create content for the Penn Art Collection website and Bloomberg Connects page, including artwork photography, editing and formatting information, and synchronizing content with social media. The intern will have the opportunity to research artwork and write original content for Bloomberg Connects. When Penn Art Collection exhibitions are scheduled, interns will participate in the exhibition-planning process. The Penn Art Collection offers internships through the Penn CURF Summer Humanities Internship Program (SHIP)
