The Russian works in Thomas W. Evans’ collection show the extent of his travels and the international range of his illustrious acquaintances. The brass bust depicts the Czar Alexander III, Emperor of Russia from 1881 to 1894. Alexander III was a conservative leader who was dubbed “the peacemaker”, as Russia fought no major wars during his reign.
