This gold and enamel-work jewelry casket relates to early leaders of the German Empire. The Prussians dominated the German Empire from its creation in 1871, led by Kaiser Wilhelm I. When the lid of the casket is opened, the lid’s underside features a gold medallion commemorating Wilhelm and his wife, the Empress Augusta.
