Norma Morgan was an African American painter and engraver. since the 1950's, Morgan's work has focused on the romantic moors of England and Scotland, where she has spent considerable time. Morgan often plays with the relationship between nature and the human figure in her work. In this engraving, a weathered country cottage sits aside a magnificent tree. A closer look reveals a tiny figure resting by the water as two sheep commune nearby.
