Reminiscing, Acrylic P.J. Crook (British, born 1945)
#1988.0004.0001
British artist PJ Crook was born in Cheltenham, England where she still lives and works today. Her paintings are particularly recognizable for their painted frames and curious imagery, and their scenes are at once reminiscent of everyday life and also strikingly surreal. Her compositions extend onto the frames of her paintings, intruding into the world of the viewer and in turn inviting the viewer into the fantasy world of the picture. Crook's paintings have been used as imagery for many album covers by the English rock band King Crimson.
